Special Awards

In addition to our core beautification program, Sullivan Renaissance recognizes community efforts through special awards.

“Showing of Flowers Awards” are intended to recognize communities that provide an abundance of flowers as part of their Sullivan Renaissance projects. Each year, over $20,000 in Showing of Flowers Awards are given out to groups that create new projects, as well as those that maintain previously-funded projects. In addition, groups creating new projects are also eligible to receive one or more “Judges Choice Awards” designed to recognize groups for their efforts in special areas.

Special Awards

Showing of Flowers Awards

A special $5000 Showing of Flowers Award will be bestowed to one new beautification project with the best overall flowers. Four additional $1,000 “Judges Choice” awards will also be given out at the awards ceremony. Maintenance groups are also eligible for various Showing of Flowers awards totaling up to $12,000.

Judges Choice Awards

In each category, various awards totaling up to $4,000 will be given at the judges’ discretion to recognize groups for their efforts in special areas (i.e. historic preservation, environmental stewardship, etc.). The judges will make their determination after visiting all of the project sites.
