Communities may apply in category A, B or C, depending on the scope of their project. Please review criteria carefully. Sullivan Renaissance retains the right to reassign project categories. All grants are subject to rules and timelines detailed in the grant application.
These are single-element projects such as welcome signs, planters and small gardens. Typically these are new projects at a single location, and this category is a good place for new groups to begin..
These are multi-element projects such as park enhancements, building renovations, or large gardens. Groups that engage in these projects are generally more experienced and self-directed.
Category C projects are multi-year projects funded over a 3-year period focused on community development and downtown revitalization.

Sullivan Renaissance offers a limited number of grants of up to $750 to help well-established groups maintain and embellish previous projects. Funds may be used to add/replace soil, mulch, plants, trees, shrubs and other landscape elements. Eligible groups must have completed at least two projects within the past four years. Sullivan Renaissance offers a limited number of grants for projects that protect enhance or conserve natural resources, such as recycling, stream restoration, tree planting, green building, and renewable energy. Rolling deadline
Sullivan Renaissance offers a limited number of reimbursable grants of up to $200 for those that would like to participate at a “mini” level by landscaping, planting flowers, or sprucing up. Businesses are eligible to apply. Rolling deadline
Matching reimbursement grants for camps, bungalow colonies and seasonal businesses to enhance the appearance of their property as a demonstration for others. Rolling deadline
Sullivan Renaissance offers a limited number of reimbursable matching grants for municipalities to take down unsightly buildings, cleanup roadsides or fund anti-litter campaigns. Rolling deadline
This program is intended to support the efforts of Sullivan County youth to make a positive difference in their school or community. A limited number of grants up to $250 are available. Proposals requesting more than this amount will be considered based on the merit of the project. Applicants may be a school or established youth organization. Rolling deadline
Sullivan Renaissance offers a limited number of matching grants for professional expertise and assistance with landscape design, conceptual renderings or organizational development. Rolling deadline
Sullivan Renaissance provides community development grants to well-established groups interested in expanding their beautification efforts into other areas, including planning, economic development, and environmental initiatives as part of long term strategy or vision. Projects must be completed within one year of the grant award and are not part of the Phase II judging and grants, but are eligible for the Showing of Flowers Awards. Applicants who have previously completed a Category C project (since 2005) are eligible to apply for up to $10,000. Others may apply for up to $5,000. Flower Dollars: $250. Deadline March 24, 2010
