WHERE IS THE ‘BEST CONSTRUCTION’ OF 2005?

Sullivan County Realtors Host 3rd Annual ‘Showcase Awards’

July 18, 2005

[MONTICELLO] – Where in Sullivan County is the best newly constructed building of 2005?  Which owner or builder did the best job of renovation?  What’s the most interesting structure built this year?  Is there a home or building that strikes you as worthy of being showcased?

The Sullivan County Board of Realtors is recognizing owners and builders of homes and businesses which enhance the appearance of their community in the third annual “Sullivan Showcase Awards.”  Anyone may make a nomination.

Categories include: “Best New Residential Construction Over 2500 Square Feet,” “Best New Residential Construction Under 2500 Square Feet,” “Best Residential Renovation,” “Best New Commercial,” “Best Commercial Renovation,” “Best Spruce Up,” “Most Improved Seasonal Community,” “Best Municipal or Public Building Project” and “Most Interesting or Unique.”

To give special recognition to a municipality, a monetary grant of $2000 will be given to the “Best Municipal or Public Building Project.”  This award is made possible through Sullivan Renaissance.  Last year’s grant went to the Sullivan West High School in Lake Huntington.  The 2003 winner was the Robert J. Kaiser Middle School in Monticello.

All nominees must be located within Sullivan County and have been completed by August 31, 2005.  Judging criteria will consider the exterior only, use of site, innovation, visual appeal and workmanship.  Structures that were previous winners or finalists are not eligible again.

Nominations must be submitted by August 31, 2005.  The awards will be presented on November 10, 2005 at the Eagle’s Nest in Bloomingburg.

Applications may be obtained by contacting any local Realtor’s office or Sullivan Renaissance group.  They may be downloaded from this website. Completed forms should be sent to the Sullivan County Board of Realtors, Showcase Committee, 504 Broadway, Monticello, NY, 12701.  For more information about the application process or awards dinner, call Ada Cole at 845-794-2735.
