MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY

National Program Promotes Volunteerism

October 22, 2018

[LIBERTY] – Join Sullivan Renaissance and volunteers from throughout the community for “Make a Difference Day” on Saturday, October 27 from 9:00am - 11:00am, at the Liberty Public Library, 189 N Main Street, Liberty. As the library prepares to renovate and expand services, volunteers will help with boxing books.

“There are numerous ways to volunteer throughout Sullivan County including food pantries, libraries, medical facilities, schools, and of course through Sullivan Renaissance,” said Anne-Louise Scandariato, Sullivan Renaissance Volunteer Program Manager. “We are delighted to be lending a hand at the library in preparation for their exciting future.”

Anyone interested in helping on Saturday should contact Anne Louise at 845-295-2405 or email her at ascandariato@sullivanrenaissance.org

“Make a Difference Day”, created by The Points of Light Foundation, is one of the largest national days of service in the United States. For the last 20 years, the event has been acknowledged on the fourth Saturday in October, with the goal of uniting people to make a difference in public spaces while improving the lives of others through service, increasing the strength of the community and promoting civic engagement.

Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development program principally funded by the Gerry Foundation with support from Bold Gold Media Group, The River Reporter, The Sullivan County Democrat, DVEight, and The Times Herald-Record.  Learn how to get involved as a volunteer or as a partner organization by calling Sullivan Renaissance at 845-295-2445 or visiting SullivanRenaissance.org.
