IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO PLANT!

‘Essential Summer Planting and Maintenance Tips’

June 18, 2010

[LIBERTY] – Sullivan Renaissance is sponsoring a workshop on “Essential Summer Planting and Maintenance Tips” for residents – including summer and part-time visitors – on Wednesday, July 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the CVI Building, Liberty.

Summer is a time of beauty and abundance in the garden.  It’s also a busy time for gardeners, full of activities that are necessary to care for and maintain the health of various plants.  This seminar will touch upon container gardening, dead-heading, watering, pest control, staking and supporting plants, pruning shrubs, and planting fall bulbs.

The instructor is Birgitta Brophy, associate professor in the Landscape Design and Management program at SUNY Delhi since 1997, and landscape architectural consultant to private clients and municipalities for public projects including "Main Street" revitalization studies/designs and landscape master plans.

Everyone is welcome.  Refreshments will be served.

To register for the program, contact 845-295-2445 or info@sullivanrenaissance.org.  Registration is also available on-line at www.sullivanrenaissance.org.

Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development program principally funded by the Gerry Foundation.  Additional funding has been secured by NYS Senator John J. Bonacic and Assemblywoman Aileen M. Gunther.  Sponsorships have been provided by WSUL/WVOS for Category A projects and by Bold Gold Media Group/Thunder 102 for Category B projects.
