Winning homes and businesses that enhance the community’s appearance

[MONTICELLO] – Winners of the 2005 “Sullivan Showcase Awards” were announced to over 160 people on November 10 at the Eagle’s Nest in Bloomingburg.  Sponsored by the Sullivan County Board of Realtors and Sullivan Renaissance, the awards recognize owners of homes and businesses that enhance the appearance of their community. 

 

·        Best Residential Renovation: W. Anderson Wittekind, Wolf Lake, Wurtsboro; Contractor/Builder: WDG, Inc.; Architect:  Joseph Hurwitz & Associates

·        New Residential Construction Under 2500 Sq. Ft.: Leslie And Stanley Buchesky, Tusten; Architect, Irace Architecture, Catskill Farms; Contractor, Bluestone Construction, Charles Petersheim

·        New Residential Construction Over 2500 Sq. Ft.: Long View, Bethel, Dr. Hal & Jennifer Teitelbaum; Designer/Contractor, Steve Dubrovsky, Woodstone Development, LLC

·        Unique/Most Interesting Renovation: Don Downs, Long Eddy; Contractor, Ted Perzanowski, Carpentry Plus

·        Best Seasonal Community New Construction: Camp Simcha, Glen Spey; Owner, Chai Lifeline; Architect, Joseph Hurwitz & Associates

·        Best New Commercial Construction: Jefferson Professional Plaza, Monticello; Owners, Martco Gold Builders, Mario L Martinez & Raymond Gold; Architect, Sam Liebman, Liebman Associates/Alfandre Architecture, PC; Builder, Martco Gold Builders

·        Best Municipal or Public Building Project: Youngsville Fire Department, Youngsville; Contractors, Krum and Son, Inc., C&K Construction, Sullivan Structures, Rebel Construction, Alside Siding Company, John and Isabel Mulvihill.  A monetary grant of $2000 is given with this award, made possible by Sullivan Renaissance.

 

Winners and finalists in each category also received certificates from U.S. Rep. Maurice D. Hinchey, State Senator John J. Bonacic and Assembly Member Aileen M. Gunther.  Showcase committee chair Melissa Lanza encouraged everyone to begin thinking about nominations for 2006.
