GARDENING WORKSHOP ON JULY 6

‘Essential Summer Planting and Maintenance Tips’

June 14, 2011

[LIBERTY] – Sullivan Renaissance is sponsoring a gardening workshop on “Essential Summer Planting and Maintenance Tips” for residents – including summer and part-time visitors – on Wednesday, July 6 at 7:00 p.m. in Cablevision Center, Liberty.

Summer is a time of beauty and abundance in the garden.  It’s also a busy time for gardeners, full of activities that are necessary to care for and maintain the health of various plants.  This workshop will address seasonal activities including container gardening, dead-heading, watering, pest control, staking and supporting plants, pruning shrubs, and planting fall bulbs.

Vivian Multari-Ginsberg, the Sullivan Renaissance Horticulturalist, will lead the workshop.  She is an avid gardener with over 25 years of horticulture and landscaping experience.  She studied at the New York Botanical Garden and Master Gardener Program in Connecticut.  She practices organic vegetable and ornamental gardening both personally and professionally.

Everyone is welcome.  Space is limited, pre-registration is requested.  Refreshments will be provided. To register, contact Sullivan Renaissance at www.sullivanrenaissance.org or 845-295-2445.

Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development program principally funded by the Gerry Foundation. Additional funding has been secured by U.S. Representative Maurice D. Hinchey.  Sponsors include Bold Gold Media Group/Thunder 102, Robert Green Dealerships, Sullivan County Democrat, The River Reporter and WSUL/WVOS.
