LIBERTY – A training workshop on conservation subdivisions, smart growth design techniques, and the planning tools, regulatory tools and administrative actions necessary to implement these techniques will be held on Monday, April 30 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the CVI Center in Liberty.
The workshop is sponsored by the Delaware Highlands Conservancy, Sullivan Renaissance and the Sullivan County Division of Planning and Environmental Management.
The planning strategies to be discussed include: conservation subdivision versus conventional development, overlay districts, streetscape design, corner lot development, and green infrastructure.
Workshop leaders include professional AICP planners from Community Planning and Management of Pike County, PA and the Orange County Planning Department, as well as a legal professional from Pace Law School Land Use Law Center.
This workshop is offered free to municipal officials and anyone interested in learning more about smart growth design. Planning and zoning board members may receive three NYS Training Credits, but need to check with their municipality.
