[FERNDALE] – Here’s a chance for everyone to learn tips and get advice about the essential gardening tasks required for the autumn. Sullivan Renaissance will present its “Keeping Your Garden Going” seminar on Wednesday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the CVI Center in Ferndale.
The seminar will focus on five significant areas:
· How to close up the garden bed
· Beautiful containers through the autumn
· Planting bulbs for the spring
· “Texas potting” for Mediterranean plants (rosemary and lavender)
· Importance of compost – and how to make it
Seminar presenters include: Sullivan Renaissance Gardening Consultant Mary Lewis, Sullivan Renaissance Horticultural Liaison Vivian Multari-Ginsberg and CCE Master Gardener Coordinator Susan Dollard.
“Daffodils seem to be everyone’s favorite spring bulb,” said Lewis, “but there are so many other bulbs that can extend bloom time in your garden from February through June! Now is the time to shop and October is the best time to plant these garden gems.”
Everyone is welcome. Pre-registration is requested. Refreshments will be provided. To register, contact Sullivan Renaissance at 845-295-2445 or www.sullivanrenaissance.org.
Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development program principally funded by the Gerry Foundation.
