‘Celebrating Sullivan Spaces’ at Circle Park in Glen Spey

July 14, 2015

[GLEN SPEY] - This is the third event of the 2015 Celebrating Sullivan Spaces campaign, which promotes education and community engagement in Sullivan County’s public spaces.  All events take place in parks and gardens that are cared for by volunteers.

Sullivan Renaissance Horticulture Coordinator Diana K. Weiner will lead the program and share tips and tricks about weeding, watering and other gardening tasks.

No gardening experience is necessary.  Gloves and tools will be available but individuals are asked to bring their own if they have them.  Attendees will also have an opportunity to explore Circle Park’s playground, nature trails and lawn games.  Refreshments will be provided.

Free Activities in Other Communities:

·          Knot in My Backyard: An Introduction to Invasive Plants: Sunday, July 19 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Callicoon Creek Park, Callicoon; meet behind the stage

·          Container Gardening 101: Thursday, July 23 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; meet in the Swan Lake Park near the intersection of Route 55 and Briscoe Road
