[FERNDALE] – Sullivan Renaissance will make a limited number of
$200 grants available to summer camps, bungalow colonies and other
seasonal communities in Sullivan County for projects that improve the
appearance of their property. Invitations were mailed this week
to hundreds of potential participants. Last year 13 seasonal
communities took part in the program.
Eligible projects must be visible from the road. Examples include: new signs; improvements to entry gates; planting gardens or barrels of flowers; screening of unattractive areas; landscaping buildings; fence painting; removing eyesores (piles of rubbish, old vehicles); cleaning up litter and trash.
Sullivan Renaissance encourages the participation of young people in its projects.
Applications (including “before photos”) must be submitted by June 1. The grants will be awarded by June 30. Projects must be completed by August 8, when “after photos” and receipts are due. Communities will be recognized at the Sullivan Renaissance Awards Celebration on Monday, August 15 at the CVI Building in Ferndale.
The mission of Sullivan Renaissance is to enhance the appearance and economic well being of Sullivan County, while building a sense of pride and spirit in the community.
