Lunchtime Learning in Monticello with Sullivan Renaissance | Sep. 24, 2018
Scholarships of $1500 are available for full-time students. Part-time students who have been out of high school for over one year and are enrolled for a minimum of six credits may apply for a $750 award. Several scholarships are awarded each year.
Applicants must be involved in a 2007 community project and include a letter of recommendation from the leader of the Sullivan Renaissance group. They must answer the question “How have I, as a member of my community, been part of the Sullivan Renaissance?” (250 words) or submit a photographic portfolio or a video of their participation in the project. Deadline is July 13.
Communities have been hard at work on 46 projects since grants were awarded in March. Many can still use help before judging on August 11. For a list of the groups and projects call Sullivan Renaissance at 845-295-2445.
For an application and information about the scholarship, call SCCC Foundation Office in Loch Sheldrake at 845-434-5750 x 4479. Applications are also available at www.sullivanrenaissance.org/.
Sullivan Renaissance is a beautification and community development program principally funded by the Gerry Foundation. Youth participation is supported in part with a grant from the Louis R. Cappelli Foundation. Additional funding has been secured by NYS Senator John J. Bonacic and Assemblywoman Aileen M. Gunther.
